Matt and Amy Hayward, owner operators of New World Newmarket.

Auckland Central has a brand-new $7.5m supermarket, with the official opening of New World Newmarket. Located at 42 Nuffield Street, New World Newmarket will cater to the urban Auckland community and will be proudly locally owned and operated by Matthew Hayward.

Morgan McCann General Manager of Membership, Foodstuffs North Island says, “It’s fantastic to open a new store in Newmarket and to be able to support Matt on his journey to ownership at the same time makes the store opening so much more special. Our stores are proudly locally owned and operated and each store is able to tailor its offering to the specific needs of its community.”

New World Newmarket has been designed with the urban Auckland community in mind with a fantastic selection of food-to-go options, freshly brewed coffee, fantastic range of deli goods as well as a full grocery offering.

The store also has the latest innovations and technology with sustainable features such as having doors on meat, produce and chiller sections helping to reduce emissions and give customers a more sustainable shopping experience.

Matt Hayward, owner operator of New World Newmarket says, “it’s great to be able to finally to welcome our community in and showcase all we have to offer. We have a great team, a fantastic fresh food offering and on-site parking!”

The Newmarket site is owned by Westfield’s Scentre Group.

Foodstuffs North Island is committed to investing in communities throughout the North Island and New World Newmarket will be Foodstuffs North Island’s newest store, following a new $10m custom-built cross dock and transport centre in Whangarei in September, a New Four Square for Cambridge in August, and a new $17m New World supermarket for the Wairoa community in July.

Other significant local investments under way include the redevelopment of one of New Zealand's oldest grocery stores - Four Square Martinborough – and replacement New World stores being constructed in Flaxmere and Taumarunui.

New World Newmarket is located at 42 Nuffield Street and is open Monday – Sunday, 7am – 9pm.
