- Prep time: 5 mins + cooling | Cooking time: 40 mins
Spread your homemade plum jam over scones, toast, cakes or use as a tasty tart filling for the ultimate morning or afternoon tea. All you’ll need is three ingredients and sterilised jars to store your divine jam.
Ingredients
8 plums, chopped
1 ½ cups caster sugar
2 Tbsp lemon juice
Method
In a large heavy based saucepan over medium heat, combine plums and a quarter cup of water. Bring up to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes or until the plums have mostly softened.
Stir through sugar and lemon juice and simmer for a further 25-30 minutes or until reduced and thickened.
Remove from the heat and leave to cool for 10 minutes.
Carefully transfer the jam into sterilised jars and set aside to cool completely.
Store in a dark place unopened for up to 3 months or in a fridge once opened.
