- 50g pure butter
- 50g plain flour
- 2 cups Value milk
- 1 cup grated Colby Cheese
Method
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
- Stir in the flour to make a paste.
- Gradually pour in the milk, while whisking to ensure no lumps.
- Continue to cook the mixture until it thickens.
- Remove from the heat and stir through the cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

- Cheese sauce can be used in so many different ways from a delicious topping over steamed vegetables to an addition to your favourite pasta (mac and cheese is a classic!) or even as a toasted sandwich or burger filler for a unique twist.
