Hot cross bun churros

Ingredients

Method

Ingredients

  • 6 hot cross buns of your choice
  • 60g butter, melted
  • 180g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 100ml cream
  • ¼ cup Pics smooth peanut butter
  • ⅓ cup caster sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Cut hot cross buns in half horizontally, then cut into 2cm strips. Place on a lined baking tray and brush all sides with butter. Fan bake in a preheated oven at 170°C until crispy and golden brown, for about 10-15 minutes, turning halfway through.
  2. Meanwhile, make the dipping sauce by melting together milk chocolate and cream. Stir in the peanut butter until smooth and then set aside.
  3. In a shallow bowl combine the caster sugar and ground cinnamon. Then while still warm, toss the toasted hot cross buns in the cinnamon sugar.
  4. Serve churros alongside the peanut butter chocolate dipping sauce.

Top tip:

Upgrade these delicious churros with a final drizzle of moreish peanut butter and a sprinkling of chopped peanuts over the dipping sauce for the ultimate indulgent touch.

  • Is the oven the only way to cook these?
    • No! We love to use an airfryer for these types of fan bake recipes! And it cuts the time in half!
