Smash burger taco
Smashed ground beef on a mini tortilla, topped with melty cheese, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, tomato sauce and a classic fried egg. This Kiwi burger twist on smash burger tacos is a taste sensation you’ll have to try.

- 400g beef mince
- ½ onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 mini tortillas
- 6 cheese slices
- Shredded lettuce
- 6 fried eggs
- Diced tomato
- Sliced beetroot
- Tomato sauce

In a large bowl combine beef mince, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined then divide into six even-sized balls. Place one ball on each tortilla and press the mince to the same size as the tortilla.

Bring a drizzle of oil to medium-high heat in a large frying pan. Working two at a time, place the tortillas meat side down in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden.

Flip the tortilla over and place a slice of cheese on top. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook for a few minutes or until cooked through and the cheese has melted.

Transfer to a plate and top with lettuce, egg, tomato and beetroot.

Drizzle with tomato sauce, then serve and enjoy.
Top tip: Slice the remaining half of your onion and sauté in a frying pan with a drizzle of oil until softened as an extra topping for your smash burger tacos
