Method
Ingredients
- 3 cups plain flour
- 2 tsp yeast
- A pinch of salt
Method
- In a large bowl combine flour, yeast and a generous pinch of salt. Mix until well combined, then add one and a half cups of warm water. Stir until a soft but slightly sticky dough forms, adding more water if necessary.
- Cover and place in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Place a heavy based casserole dish with a lid into the oven and preheat to 220°C.
- Place the dough on a lightly floured working surface. Using floured hands shape the dough into a round and lightly dust the top with flour. Place on two sheets of baking paper seam side down. Carefully lower the baking paper with the dough into the preheated dish.
- Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and cook for a further 10 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack and leave to cool before serving.
