Christmas tree brownies
‘Tis the season to get your bake on and these Christmas tree brownies will be the jolly highlight of your holiday season baking! Delightfully delicious and easy to assemble, it’s a fun festive activity for tamariki to get invovled in.
Ingredients
Method
Ingredients
- 250g Pams pure butter, melted
- 2 cups Pams caster sugar
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup Pams pure plain flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup Pams icing sugar
- Food colouring (we used red)
Method
- Preheat your oven to 170°C fan bake. In a large bowl mix the butter and sugar until well combined. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth.
- Sieve the flour, cocoa and salt into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Pour into a greased and lined slice tin and place in the oven to bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
- Leave to cool in the tin for 15-20 minutes before allowing it to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cool, cut the brownie in half lengthways, then cut into tall triangles.
- To make the icing, place the icing sugar into a bowl and add dashes of water until the icing reaches piping consistency. Colour as desired, then transfer the icing into a piping bag.
- Pipe the icing over the brownie in a zigzag pattern to create a Christmas tree.
Top tip: Create a little Christmas magic with candy canes tree trunks and festive sprinkles sprinkled over the top of your decorated brownies.
