Terms and conditions

1. Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of these and any other applicable terms and conditions. This competition may have additional terms and conditions and wherever possible the additional terms and conditions will be posted at www.newworld.co.nz.

Promoter

2. The Promoter of this competition is Turas Limited (New World Howick). 

Promotion Period 

3. The competition commences on 7 April 2025 and runs until close of trade on 18 May 2025 (Promotion Period).  

Eligible Spend

4. You will receive one entry in the draw when you: 

a. spend a minimum of $100 on a click & Collect order online at newworld.co.nz/shop or through the New World mobile application (excluding spend on Christmas Club deposits, gift cards, prepaid debit cards, travel card top ups, phone card top ups, tobacco products and New Zealand Lotteries tickets, service and bag fees, and purchases paid for through charge accounts or purchases intended for wholesale or resale) at New World Howick; and
b. have a Clubcard correctly loaded on your New World online shopping account before the time of payment,
during the Promotion Period online at New World Howick only (Eligible Purchase). Purchases made instore from New World Howick or any other New World store are not eligible. 

5. When you make an Eligible Purchase you will automatically be entered into the draw. 

6. To avoid doubt:

a. you will only receive one entry into the draw even if you spend more than $100 in a single transaction; and
b. you may receive one entry each week of the competition (being Monday to Sunday) maximum. You will only receive one entry in the draw, even if you make more than one Eligible Purchase in the same week through separate transactions.  However, as an example, if you make an Eligible Purchase during two separate weeks during the Promotion Period, you will receive two separate entries (being one entry in each Weekly Draw) in accordance with clause 8.

Eligibility to enter and to win a prize

7. To be eligible to enter this competition and win a prize:

(a) you cannot be a New World Howick or Foodstuffs North Island staff member; 
(b) you must have made an Eligible Purchase;  
(c) you must be a current New World Clubcard member;
(d) you must be 18 years of age or older. If a winner is under 18 years of age, at New World Howick’s sole discretion, their prize may be deferred to a parent or legal guardian who is 18 years of age or older, who may be asked to sign an acknowledgement of their agreement to these Terms and Conditions, or, the prize may be awarded to another winner;
(e) you must consent to New World Howick using your name, photo, hometown and image for publicity and promotional purposes (including the display of your name in store) and you must make yourself available for publicity photographs relating to the competition on request for no additional compensation.  

Prizes and how winners will be selected

8. There will be one draw conducted for all Eligible Purchases received by New World Howick from 12:01am on Monday of each week until 11:59pm on the Sunday of each week during the Promotion Period (each, a Weekly Draw).  There will be six draws conducted in total, only containing the Eligible Entries received during the preceding week in the Promotion Period.  Winners will be drawn by New World Howick by random eligible selection from the pool of all Eligible Entries received from the Monday of each week until the Sunday of the same week.  

9. The first Eligible Purchase drawn in each Weekly Draw will win the choice between $250 worth of groceries from New World Howick (which the winner can choose, but which excludes alcohol, tobacco, gift cards and New Zealand Lotteries tickets), or one $250 New World voucher (Prize).  There are six prizes available to be won in total.  The total prize pool is valued at $1,500 NZD.

10. The first Eligible Purchase drawn in each Weekly Draw will win the Prize.

If prize becomes unavailable

11. Subject to any applicable law that cannot be excluded, New World Howick is not responsible or liable for any loss suffered by any entrant in the event that a prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its control.  In this event, New World Howick may substitute a prize of its choice.

Notifying winners

12. The prize winner will be drawn by New World Howick each Wednesday on the week following each Weekly Draw in accordance with clause 8. Winners will be notified by New World Howick or its agent once a draw has been completed within 5 working days of the draw, via the Clubcard contact details used to enter the competition. In the event that a winner cannot be contacted within 7 working days of a draw occurring or if New World Howick determines that a winner is not eligible to participate in a draw the prize will be forfeited, a further draw will be conducted and the prize allocated to the new winner.

13. New World Howick is not responsible if a winner cannot be contacted following the draw due to incorrect or out of date contact details being provided, and any such winner will forfeit the prize to the next eligible winner, on these Terms and Conditions.

Prize conditions

14. The prize winner must collect the prize at New World Howick. If prize winner is unable to collect at that store, within the collection period stated, a further draw may be conducted, and the prize allocated to a new winner.  

15. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or negotiable and are not redeemable for cash. 

Verifying compliance with these terms

16. New World Howick reserves the right to verify the identity of any entrant (including an entrant's identity, age, city/town of residence and place of employment) and to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant, or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. 

Exclusion of liability

17. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded, New World Howick, Foodstuffs North Island Limited, their respective employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature incurred or suffered by any person (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this competition or with winning, redeeming or benefiting from the prize.

Disputes

18. In the event of a dispute concerning any aspect of the competition including eligibility the decision of New World Howick will be final.  No correspondence concerning any decision made by New World Howick will be entered into.

Additional terms

19. New World Howick reserves the right to amend, suspend or terminate the competition and these Terms and Conditions at any time. 
Privacy

20. All entries remain the property of New World Howick. Your personal information may be used to conduct this competition and for future promotional and publicity purposes in relation to this competition. By entering this competition, you consent to the use of your personal information for these purposes. Foodstuffs’ New World Privacy Policy will apply to all personal information that we collect from you.
