Macaroni and cheese croquettes
Crispy panko coated croquettes with a creamy mac’ and cheese centre. These delicious morsels are the most ideal finger food that everyone can enjoy. Serve as an appetiser alongside some chipotle mayo for your next gathering and they’ll go down a treat!

- 1½ cups dried macaroni pasta
- 2 Tbsp Pams Pure Butter
- 2 Tbsp flour, plus extra for dusting
- 1¾ cups milk
- 1½ cups Pams Tasty Grated Cheese
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1½ cups Pams Panko Breadcrumbs
Method
- Cook the dried macaroni pasta as per pack instruction until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk while cooking for a minute or so. Slowly add the milk, stirring until the sauce has thickened and is bubbling.
- Add the cheese to the white sauce and season with salt and pepper. Stir until the cheese has melted, then fold the cooked pasta through.
- Spoon into a lined slice tin, then refrigerate until firm. Once firm, cut into squares and crumb in seasoned flour, beaten egg and panko breadcrumbs.
- Shallow fry the croquettes in a pan until golden brown and crispy, then drain on a paper towel. Serve while hot and crispy!
Top tip: If you’re making these croquettes for your next game night or potluck, make the macaroni cheese ahead of time and store it in the fridge until you’re ready to fry for fresh and crispy croquettes.
Garnish with freshly grated parmesan and chopped parsley for the perfect finish to these irresistible croquettes.
