    Terms and conditions

    1. Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of these and any other applicable terms and conditions. This competition may have additional terms and conditions and wherever possible the additional terms and conditions will be posted at www.newworld.co.nz.

    Promoter

    2. The Promoter of this competition is Pedersen Grocer Limited (New World Onekawa).

    Promotion Period

    3. The competition commences on 1/6/2024 and runs until 9pm on 30/6/2024 (Promotion Period).

    Eligible Spend

    4. You will receive one entry in the draw for every $100 or more you spend in one transaction (excluding spend on Christmas Club deposits, gift cards, prepaid debit cards, travel card top ups, phone card top ups, tobacco products and New Zealand Lotteries tickets, service and bag fees for delivery and click and collect orders, and purchases paid for through charge accounts or purchases intended for wholesale or resale) on each Sunday during the Promotion Period (being the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th of June 2024) instore only at New World Onekawa (Eligible Purchase). Purchases made online or through the mobile app from New World Onekawa are not eligible.

    5. When you make an Eligible Purchase, you will be asked to provide your contact details. You must provide all requested information on your receipt and place it in the entry box at checkouts to go into the draw.

    6. To avoid doubt:

    a. you will only receive one entry into the draw even if you spend more than $100 on qualifying products in a single transaction; and

    b. you are only able to make an Eligible Purchase on each Sunday during the Promotion Period. If you spend $100 or more on qualifying products on any other day of the week during the Promotion Period that is not Sunday, you will not receive an entry into the draw.

    Eligibility to enter and to win a prize

    7. To be eligible to enter this competition and win a prize:

    (a) you cannot be a New World Onekawa or Foodstuffs North Island staff member;

    (b) you must have made an Eligible Purchase;

    (c) you must be 18 years of age or older ;

    (d) you must consent to New World Onekawa using your name, photo, hometown and image for publicity and promotional purposes (including the display of your name in store) and you must make yourself available for publicity photographs relating to the competition on request for no additional compensation.

    Prizes and how winners will be selected

    8. There will be one prize draw conducted in total out of all Eligible Purchases made on each Sunday of the Promotion Period (being the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th of June 2024).

    9. The winner will be drawn by New World Onekawa (or its agent) on 1 July 2024 by random electronic selection from all Eligible Purchases received. The first eligible entry drawn from all Eligible Purchases will win one 60-second ‘trolley-grab’, valued at a maximum of $500 (including GST).

    10. The winner will begin the ‘trolley-grab’ in an area of New World Onekawa that the winner and the store agree upon, and the winner will have 60 seconds to select eligible products from the store up to the maximum value of $500 (including GST) (subject to clause 11). Only one person can partake in the ‘trolley-grab’ prize.

    11. For the avoidance of doubt, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards and New Zealand Lotteries tickets are prohibited from being won as part of the ‘trolley-grab’.

    12. If a winner grabs more than $500 worth of goods, they will be required to either pay the difference or return items until the total value of the ‘trolley-grab’ is equal to or less than the maximum $500 (including GST) prize value. If the winner grabs less than $500 worth of groceries by the end of the 60 second period, any remaining balance will be forfeited.

    If prize becomes unavailable

    13. Subject to any applicable law that cannot be excluded, New World Onekawa is not responsible or liable for any loss suffered by any entrant in the event that a prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its control. In this event, New World Onekawa may substitute a prize of its choice.

    Notifying winners

    14. Winner(s) will be notified by New World Onekawa or its agent within 5 working days of the draw being completed to arrange a time for the prize to be collected, via the contact details provided when entering the competition. In the event that a winner cannot be contacted within 7 working days of a draw occurring or if New World Onekawa determines that a winner is not eligible to participate in a draw, the prize will be forfeited, a further draw will be conducted and the prize allocated to the new winner.

    15. New World Onekawa is not responsible if a winner cannot be contacted following the draw due to incorrect or out of date contact details being provided, and any such winner will forfeit the prize to the next eligible winner, on these Terms and Conditions.

    Prize conditions

    16. The prize winner must complete the ‘trolley-grab’ at New World Onekawa. The prize winner and New World Onekawa will work together in good faith to mutually agree a time to complete the ‘trolley-grab’, however, the time of the ‘trolley-grab’ shall ultimately be decided at the sole discretion of New World Onekawa. If prize winner is unable to make the time, a further draw may be conducted and the prize allocated to a new winner.

    17. Winner must comply with all of New World Onekawa’s health & safety policies and instructions when entering the premises and completing the trolley-grab.

    18. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or negotiable and are not redeemable for cash.

    Verifying compliance with these terms

    19. New World Onekawa reserves the right to verify the identity of any entrant (including an entrant's identity, age, city/town of residence and place of employment) and to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant, or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

    Exclusion of liability

    20. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded, New World Onekawa, Foodstuffs North Island Limited, their respective employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature incurred or suffered by any person (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this competition or with winning, redeeming or benefiting from the prize.

    Disputes

    21. In the event of a dispute concerning any aspect of the competition including eligibility the decision of New World Onekawa will be final. No correspondence concerning any decision made by New World Onekawa will be entered into.

    Additional terms

    22. New World Onekawa reserves the right to amend, suspend or terminate the competition and these Terms and Conditions at any time.

    Privacy

    23. All entries remain the property of New World Onekawa. Your personal information may be used to conduct this competition and for future promotional and publicity purposes in relation to this competition. By entering this competition, you consent to the use of your personal information for these purposes. Foodstuffs’ New World Privacy Policy will apply to all personal information that we collect from you.

    8. There will be one draw conducted for all Eligible Purchases made on each Sunday of the Promotion Period (being the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of May 2024) (Sunday Draw). There will be four prize draws in total. One winner will be drawn by New World Onekawa by random eligible section from all Eligible Purchases received during each Sunday Draw. There will be four prize winners in total.

    9. The first eligible entry drawn from each Sunday Draw will win a New World Gift Card to the same value of the winner’s spend as part of their Eligible Purchase (including GST).

    If prize becomes unavailable
