How to play

Download the New World app

To play New World’s Wonderful Wednesday games, you need to have the New World app and be logged in with your Clubcard. Download the app onto your phone by visiting your app store.

Spin the wheel. A new game drops each Wednesday!

Once you’re logged in to the New World app, simply tap the ‘Play to be in to win’ tile on the home screen and off you go. Don't miss out! You've got a week to play.

  • How do I play the game?
    In the New World app tap the ‘Play to be in to win’ tile on the home screen and it will take you straight to the game. Good luck!
  • Do I need to be a Clubcard member?

    Yes, only Clubcard members can play the games. If you are not a Clubcard member you can join now here.

    If you win, congratulations! Your prize will be paid in your chosen Clubcard reward – New World Dollars or Airpoints™.

  • I’m a Clubcard member but don’t have the New World app – if I download the app will I be able to play the game?
    Yes, download the app, log in with your Clubcard number or email address and password. Then you’ll see the ‘Play to be in to win’ tile on the home screen. Good luck!

  • I have just joined Clubcard and downloaded the app – when will I be able to play?
    Great, you are now eligible to play the next Wonderful Wednesday game when it becomes available the following Wednesday.
  • I’ve logged in to the New World app but can’t see the ‘Play to be in to win’ tile?

    Have you only just joined Clubcard? You will be eligible to play the next Wonderful Wednesday game when it becomes available the following Wednesday.

    If you’re not already a Clubcard member, click on the ‘Join Clubcard now!’ tile and follow the prompts. You will see the ‘Play to be in to win’ tile the following Wednesday. To play Wonderful Wednesday games, you can join Clubcard at any time until 11.59pm on Tuesday 4 March.

    Check you have app version 4.24.2 or later installed. To do this, tap the 3 bars at the top left of the home screen to open the menu and scroll down to see the version number. If you need to update, go into your app store, search for New World app and tap update.

    If you’re a Clubcard member and you can see the ‘Join Clubcard now!’ tile, contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70 to link up your email address and Clubcard account.

    Your Clubcard may have been manually added to the app. To check, tap the 3 bars at the top left of the home screen to open the menu and tap on ‘Personal details’. If you see a rubbish bin icon next to your Clubcard number, your Clubcard isn’t properly linked to your account. Please contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70.

    Do you have multiple devices logged in with your account?

    • Each Wonderful Wednesday game can only be played once and the ‘Play to be in to win’ tile will disappear when the weekly game has been played.
    • If the game has already been played on another device with the same log in, you’ll receive an error message when you go to play.

  • How many chances do I get to play?

    You have one chance to play the game each week.

    Wonderful Wednesday games become available at midday on Wednesday 12 February, Wednesday 19 February, Wednesday 26 February and the final game begins Wednesday 5 March.

    You have until 11.59pm the following Tuesday to play each game.

    There are four games in total during the promotion period, 12 February to 11 March 2025. 

  • What will my prize be?

    Prize values to be won each week include 5, 10, 100, 1000. You’ll receive these in your chosen Clubcard rewards, either New World Dollars or Airpoints™.

    If you change your Clubcard rewards choice during a game period, you’ll still see the game in your previous rewards choice, but your prize will be given in your new rewards choice.

  • How will I know I have received my prize?

    If your Clubcard rewards choice is New World Dollars, when you return from the game your balance on the app home screen will increase to include your prize (you may need to refresh your home screen by dragging it down). You can also tap on your New World Dollar balance then tap ‘view transactions’. You’ll see your prize shown as a ‘New World Bonus’. If you can’t see your prize, please contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70.

    If your Clubcard rewards choice is Airpoints™, your Airpoints Dollars™ prize will appear in your Air New Zealand app almost immediately. You can also tap on ‘view latest activity’ on your Airpoints™ account and your prize will be shown as “New World Wonderful Wednesday Airpoints™ Dollars”. If you can’t see your prize, please contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70.

Downloading the New World app

When you’ve downloaded the New World app and you’re a Clubcard member, tap ‘Log in’ on the app landing screen and enter your Clubcard number or email address and password.

Alternatively, if you shop online with New World, you can log in to the app using your online shopping account email and password and join Clubcard.

  • Not a Clubcard member or online shopper?
    Tap ‘Register’ in the New World app landing screen and follow the prompts. Remember to join Clubcard when you register.
  • Forgotten your Clubcard password?

    Go to clubcard.co.nz, click ‘Login’, enter your email address or Clubcard number and click ‘Forgot your password?’. Follow the prompts to reset your password.

    Once your password has been reset, you can go to the New World app and tap ‘Log in’ on the landing screen. Enter your Clubcard number or email address and new password, then you’re all set!

  • Haven’t set a password for your Clubcard account?

    Go to clubcard.co.nz, click ‘Login’, enter your email address or Clubcard number and follow the prompts. You’ll go through to a screen to set your password.

    Then go to the New World app, tap ‘Log in’ on the landing screen and enter your Clubcard number or email address and password, and you’re all set!

  • Only have a Clubcard number, no password or email address?

    Go to clubcard.co.nz, click ‘Login’, enter your Clubcard number and follow the prompts through the screens to add your email and set your password.

    Then go to the New World app, tap ‘Log in’ on the landing screen and enter your Clubcard number or email address and password, and you’re all set!

  • Changed your email address?
    Please contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70 to update your email address. You can then use your preferred email and password to log in to the app.
  • Shop online with New World but aren’t a Clubcard member?
    Log in to the New World app using your online shopping email and password. Click on the ‘Join Clubcard now!’ tile and follow the prompts - you’ll now get Club Deal discounts when you shop online!
  • Shop online with one email and have a Clubcard with a different email?
    Contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70 to link up your accounts. You can then use your preferred email and password to log in to the app.

    Promoter

    1. Foodstuffs (N.Z.) Limited (Foodstuffs) is the promoter of the New World Wonderful Wednesday Promotion (Promotion).

    2. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to these terms and conditions.

    Promotion Period

    3. The Promotion runs from 12.00pm Wednesday 12 February 2025 – 11.59pm Tuesday 11 March 2025, excluding the time between each Entry Period as defined in clause 5 (Promotion Period).

    4. There are four separate games available to be played throughout the Promotion Period, as detailed in clause 5 below.

    How to Play

    5. To enter, go to the New World mobile application and follow the prompts to the Wonderful Wednesday game promotion. You will then be presented with a “Spin & Win” game. You have four opportunities to play the game during the Promotion Period, with a new entry period beginning at midday each Wednesday during the Promotion Period. Eligible entrants are eligible to play the game once during each of:

    • 12.00pm Wednesday 12 February – 11.59pm Tuesday 18 February 2025;
    • 12.00pm Wednesday 19 February - 11.59pm Tuesday 25 February 2025;
    • 12.00pm Wednesday 26 February - 11.59pm Tuesday 4 March 2025; and
    • 12.00pm Wednesday 5 March - 11.59pm Tuesday 11 March 2025,

    (each, an Entry Period).

    6. You must play the game during the applicable Entry Period to be eligible to enter the draw for that Entry Period. To avoid doubt, there are four opportunities in total to play the game during the Promotion Period.

    7. The object of each game is to virtually spin the wheel to see whether you have won a Prize.

    8. Entrants who spin the wheel and land on a New World Dollars or Airpoints™ token will immediately be notified they have won a Prize.

    9. Entrants who spin the wheel and do not land on a New World Dollars or Airpoints™ token will not win a Prize. To avoid doubt, the winning/losing algorithm of the “Spin & Win” game will be based on a set percentage win rate applicable to each Entry Period (i.e. winning is based on chance and not the application of skill). The chance of winning depends on the number of participants in the Promotion.

    Prizes

    10 .There are up to 102,200 prizes to be won in total across the full duration of the Promotion Period (with a total value of $1,000,000 NZD worth of New World Dollars or Airpoints Dollars™), broken down as follows:

    • 200 x 1,000 New World Dollars or Airpoints Dollars™
    • 2000 x 100 New World Dollars or Airpoints Dollars™
    • 20,000 x 10 New World Dollars or Airpoints Dollars™
    • 80,000 x 5 New World Dollars or Airpoints Dollars™

    (each, a Prize).

    Please note that at the time you enter the Promotion some Prizes may have already been won.

    11. Whether you are eligible to win a Prize in New World Dollars or Airpoints Dollars™ will be determined by the Clubcard reward option you have selected at the time you play the game. For example, if your chosen Clubcard reward at 12.01pm on Wednesday 12 February 2025 is New World Dollars and you play the game and win a prize on Thursday 13 February 2025, the prize will be in New World Dollars. If you change your Clubcard reward during the applicable Entry Period and prior to playing the game, the prize will be awarded in the updated reward option you selected. Please note that you may still see the game in your previous reward option selected as at the start of the applicable Entry Period.

    12. The split of Prizes between New World Dollars and Airpoints Dollars™ has been determined based on a pre-determined proportional allocation of Prizes across New World Dollars and Airpoints Dollars™. The proportional allocation of Prizes is based on the proportional split of Clubcard members who have selected to earn New World Dollars or Airpoints Dollars™ at the beginning of the Promotion Period.

    13. Each Prize will be automatically loaded to each winners New World Clubcard account (for New World Dollars prizes) or Airpoints™ account (for Airpoints Dollar™ prizes).

    Eligibility to Enter and to Win a Prize

    14. To be eligible to win a Prize you must:

    • at the beginning of the Entry Period that you play the game, be a current New World Clubcard member;
    • at the beginning of the Entry Period that you play the game, have downloaded the New World mobile application;
    • be a New Zealand resident and 18 years of age or older; and
    • consent to Foodstuffs using your name, photo, hometown and image for publicity and promotional purposes (including the display of your name in store) and you must make yourself available for publicity photographs relating to the competition on request for no additional compensation.

    Verifying compliance with these terms

    15. Foodstuffs and/or its agents reserve the right, at any time, to verify the identity of any entrant (including an entrant's identity, age, city/town of residence and place of employment) and to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant, or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Promotion, or otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at Foodstuffs’ discretion. Failure by Foodstuffs to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. Foodstuffs’ legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

    Exclusion of liability

    16. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded, Foodstuffs and each New World store, their respective employees and agents:

    • assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to alteration of entries;
    • will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature incurred or suffered by any person (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this Promotion; and

    17. Foodstuffs may, in its sole discretion, refuse to award a Prize if it believes that a customer has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions. 

    Disputes

    18. In the event of a dispute concerning any aspect of the promotion the decision of Foodstuffs and its agents will be final. No correspondence concerning any decision made by Foodstuffs or its agents will be entered into.

    Additional terms

    19. In addition to these terms and conditions, New World Clubcard terms and conditions and the New World mobile application end user licence agreement (in the ‘Legal’ section of the mobile application) will also apply.

    20. Foodstuffs reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate this Promotion or these terms and conditions at any time.

    21. Foodstuffs reserves the right to substitute a Prize in whole (or in part) with a substitute prize of equal or greater value.

    22. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or negotiable and are not redeemable for cash.

    Privacy

    23. All entries remain the property of Foodstuffs.  Your personal information may be used to conduct this competition and for future promotional and publicity purposes in relation to this competition.  By entering this competition, you consent to the use of your personal information for these purposes. Foodstuffs’ New World Privacy Policy will apply to all personal information that we collect from you.
