From time to time we receive reports that New World customers are being targeted by online scams in the form of pop-up website ads, Facebook pages, phone calls and emails.


Stay safe online, protect yourself and your accounts:

To keep your accounts secure, make sure you follow these essential tips:

• Use a strong, unique password for each of your accounts.
• Avoid reusing passwords across different platforms.
• Be cautious when using public Wi-Fi networks. They can be less secure.
• Verify the identity of anyone requesting your personal information.
• Think twice before clicking on links, especially if they seem suspicious.
• Keep all your devices updated with the latest security patches.

We are aware of a Facebook scam being sent via Facebook messenger under the name "New World Daily Promotional Gifts" and asking customer to answer a survey in order to win "1000 Dollar". A scam via Facebook messenger that offers people a Gift Card using personal contacts as other winners. Please ignore any messages that are not from the verified national New World Facebook page. Contact us if you are unsure.  

Bank scams: 20 June 2022

Some people are reporting getting a phone call from their bank about a New World transaction and credit owing. Please do not give out any personal information to unsolicited callers and contact your bank directly for further information.

Phone scam - 1 November 2021

A scam phone call has been reported by some customers recently. These customers have received a phone call with an automated message advising that they have exceeded their spend or credit limit at a New World store. They are then advised that they need to deposit the money back into the store's bank account.
