Slow cooker cinnamon apples
These slow-cooked cinnamon apples scream winter comfort and are as versatile as they are delicious. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for dessert, or spoon over porridge or pancakes for a warming winter breakfast. You can even serve them alongside a savoury dish like roast pork. Yum!

- 6 apples
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 40g butter, cubed
Method
- Lightly grease your slow cooker with butter. Peel and core the apples and cut into 2cm slices.
- Put the sliced apples, sugar and cinnamon in the slow cooker and mix well to coat.
- Scatter the cubed butter over the mixture and cover with the lid.
- Cook on high for 2 to 2½ hours, stirring halfway through, or until the apples are tender.

- We like to use tart apples for this recipe such as Granny Smith or Braeburn varieties.
