Classic apple crumble
Family-favourite apple crumble is the classic dessert you’ll be craving on those colder nights. Tart granny smith apples tossed with cinnamon and topped with a crispy buttery topping. Serve with ice cream or custard for a satisfying sweet treat.

- 6 granny smith apples, peeled and diced
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 ⅓ cups caster sugar
- 1 cup plain flour
- 120g butter, melted
Method
- Preheat your oven to 180°C fan bake.
- In a large bowl, stir together apples, a teaspoon of cinnamon, a third cup of caster sugar and two tablespoons of water. Transfer into a baking dish.
- Make the crumble topping by combining flour, butter, the remaining cinnamon and remaining sugar. Mix until well combined then spread over the apples.
- Place in the oven to bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Leave to cool for 5 minutes, then serve and enjoy.
Tips:
- Use lemon juice instead of water for a citrus twist and add a cup of rolled oats and thirty grams of extra cubed butter in with the flour for a crunchy crumble topping.
