Summer hair care tips
- Wash your hair less often to maintain its natural oils
- Avoid blow-drying your hair as its already exposed to a lot of heat on a daily basis over the summer
- Use a hat or scarf to cover your head when you’re in the sun to help your scalp retain moisture
- Hot water can dry hair out, so rinse your hair with cold water
- Apply a leave-in moisturiser daily when you're on holiday to prevent dry 'beach-hair'
Skin care in hot weather
- Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated
- Hot showers after being in the sun further dry out your skin, so try a cooler shower
- Use SPF 15 or higher lip balm and moisturiser daily to protect your skin and lips from UV rays
- Use a body scrub before applying self-tanning lotion for a longer lasting summer glow
- Wearing sunblock when you are spending time outside will prevent sunburn and long term skin damage
- Wear UV protected sunglasses when you’re outside to protect your eyes from damaging rays
- Spending a day at the beach? Take a sarong to shield your skin from the sun
